Axe Throwing and Social Catch-up

4 Ferry Rd, West End, Brisbane, Qld.

Thursday 1st August, 5pm

Cost: $45 IECA Aust members, $55 non members.
(This includes 1.5 hrs Axe throwing session and a drink afterward at the Montague Hotel, West End, Brisbane)

IECA Aust. Queensland members feel the need to meet and talk dirt with likeminded people. They also know that after work sitting down and listening to something technical is really not on their radar. If you like talking dirt, then you are highly likely to enjoy a little bit of physical activity. This is why we are inviting you to join us for a social evening of Axe throwing, a drink on us and maybe dinner (at your own cost) afterward at the Montague Hotel, West End.

The Axe Throwing session will run for 1.5 hours and includes a full safety briefing as well as full training on the techniques needed to throw the Tomahawks and Hatchets.

How is it played?
Think of it as darts but with an Axe. A game comprises of 5 rounds of 5 throws. Points are made when the majority of the axe lands in an area of a circular target comprised of concentric rings

Is it safe?
Each thrower takes turns throwing their 5 axes in separate and dedicated throwing lanes. This prevents wayward axes going or coming into other lanes. Only the thrower is permitted in the lane. Throwers waiting for their turn are behind a barrier. All throwers are taken through a tutorial on throwing axes safely by our trained staff before each session.
