Overview

Join Scaada Environmental and Sustainability on a guided walking tour along the iconic Yarra River to explore one of the most progressive urban nature-based water treatment interventions in Australia – floating wetlands.

This tour will highlight up to three active floating wetland installations, integrated into Melbourne’s river corridor as part of efforts to enhance water quality, biodiversity, and urban liveability through green-blue infrastructure. The journey may also pass by a number of high-profile Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) assets, illustrating Melbourne’s evolving relationship with integrated water management (IWM).

The tour will be led by Scaada’s water specialists and supported by Dr. Chris Walker – a globally recognised expert on floating wetlands and collaborative researcher on national trial programs including those with RMIT, Westernport Water and TasWater.
