The RESET site is a purpose-built erosion and sediment control (ESC) education facility. It was designed and constructed by Sunshine Coast Council in June 2021, thanks to funding from the Environment Levy.

The RESET site supports research, education, and innovation by demonstrating current ESC practices, products, and techniques. Its primary goal is to enhance skills and knowledge within Sunshine Coast Council and across the industry.

This event is the first joint partnership between Sunshine Coast Council and IECA to promote the purpose-built ESC site on Sunshine Coast.

The purpose of the day will be to demonstrate that erosion control is much more effective than sediment control. In order to do this we will be making use of the test plots at the RESET Facility to compare the effectiveness of a range of erosion and sediment control techniques in minimising soil erosion and sediment runoff. We will also have live demonstrations on how to apply various products.

The RESET Site is another example of achieving Sunshine Coast Council's vision to become Australia's most sustainable region: Healthy. Smart. Creative.

The site features

  • 10 rainfall simulated erosion and sediment trial bays
  • five batter slopes
  • more than 200 metres of drainage channels
  • a High Efficiency Sediment Basin
  • material stockpiles
  • a mock house site.
