There has been extensive research on compost blankets in NSW, other Australian states, and other countries. However, understanding how to specify compost for this use, and why it’s so successful when done correctly, is not widespread within the influential industries. This educational event will improve knowledge and the application of best practice through 'site based learning'.
The Hills BARK BLOWER Company, in conjunction with NSW Roads and Maritime Services and Penelope’s Garden, has received a Waste less, Recycle More Organics Market Development Grant to run Site Based Learning educational events to increase awareness and implementation of compost blankets/Ecoblanket for erosion control, re-vegetation and rehabilitation of roadways. This includes both newly constructed and existing roadways, together with reducing soil erosion on construction sites and zones throughout NSW
