Membership

Dear Member

Changes to Membership Structure and Fees.

In 2020 IECA members voted to reunify IECA Regions this brought Region 1 and Region 2 (IECA Australasia) together as one united global organisation. This has been a very positive move for IECA as it continues to:

The IECA Head Quarters (HQ) role is to coordinate key functions for the reunified regions. When reunification was enacted, a committee appointed by the individual regions, which is inclusive of both Australasian Chapter President and HQ President was formed to conduct regular reviews of the following matters:

  • Monitor reunification progress;
  • Assess and adjust finances such as member dues, International Communications Officer salary, events profits;
  • Ensure the ongoing regional relationship is mutually beneficial;
  • Review the International Communications Officer position;
  • Review membership structures and transitions; and
  • Review conferences and events to ensure the planning and execution is maximised.

In 2025 IECA HQ will be moving the Association’s CRM membership management systems to a cloud-based platform.  This will streamline and automate many of the administration processes that are currently having to be carried out manually.  The move to this platform will have several benefits for the Australasia Chapter, which are regularly reviewed and include:

  • One (1) membership login provides to access all IECA online benefits such as event discounts, eHub training, Environmental Connection magazine, IECA Connect.
  • Administration savings as the Australasian Chapter website will be hosted within the IECA HQ system.
  • The Australasian Chapter will have added support from the IECA staff to better communicate with and service members.

When the IECA HQ Board voted to adopt the new membership management system they also reviewed the membership structure and associated fees.  This process has been carried out over 2 years with the IECA HQ Board recently voting to adopt the new structure and fees.

The Australasia Chapter Board have reviewed the new structure and associated fees and have voted that the Australasia Chapter will adopt the new structure and fees as of 1st January 2025. The Australasia Chapter Board’s review also considered the Australasia Chapter membership fees had not been revised in over ten years. The Australasia Chapter continues to work diligently for Chapter members to minimise operating costs and membership fees, whilst maximising the benefits for members.
